Kim Delaune

Wellness Director

From the first moment Kim walked into Lumina Las Vegas, she felt a peaceful and welcoming feeling. “I was drawn by the Solera culture,” she says. “Lumina is on the cutting edge of memory and dementia care and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Kim’s passion for helping others came early. As a child, she would visit her grandmother, a nurse, as she cared for residents of a memory care facility. “It’s why I became a nurse,” she says.

As Wellness Director, Kim most enjoys interacting with residents and developing relationships with family members. With 12 years of experience in long-term are and skilled nursing, Kim understands that it takes compassion—the core value that speaks most to her—to truly understand the impact of memory loss on both residents and families.

Kim received a technical diploma in Practical Nursing from Louisiana Technical College and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from American Military University. She previously has served as an Assistant Director of Nursing for a skilled nursing/short-term rehabilitation facility, as well as held several positions in long-term care facilities in dementia and memory care units.

When she is not assisting resident and their families, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. (As well as Cockapoo, Dave.) She also likes to run and scuba dive. Her favorite movie is Steel Magnolias—she can quote the lines, and she named her youngest daughter after one of the characters.

Perfect vacation? Anywhere on a beach or in the mountains. “I have an intense love for both!” says Kim.
